The Coma Cluster Radio Halo & Relic

(Updated Dec. 27 2016): This will be a dynamic post, in that I’ll update it as my research progresses. The Coma cluster of galaxies, which is a massive, nearby cluster of galaxies hosts diffuse radio synchrotron emission of unknown origin. Below is a 2.1 GHz image of the Coma cluster taken with the Green Bank Telescope (Brown et al. in prep), showing the full extend of the diffuse radio emission.
